Who We Are
Beechnut Kennels is a fully socialized dog boarding and daycare facility located in Edgewater, MD. We opened our doors because we believe pets deserve more than a place to wait. They deserve a place where they are genuinely happy to be.
Our facility at 525 East Central Avenue is designed with dogs in mind: K-9 Grass turf play areas, a pool, temperature-controlled suites with private outdoor runs, and a dedicated indoor space for training classes. Every element of the experience is built to keep dogs safe, active, and comfortable.
How We Work
We are a socialized facility, which means every dog that boards or attends daycare participates in off-leash group play as part of their base rate. Dogs are grouped by size and energy level, and every new dog goes through a free trial day and temperament evaluation before joining the group.
This approach matters. It means your dog is never isolated, never sitting in a crate all day, and never bored. It also means every dog here has been assessed and cleared to play well with others. The result is a safer, more enjoyable environment for every pet in our care.

The people who work at Beechnut are here because they love dogs. Our staff is experienced, attentive, and trained to handle dogs of all temperaments and energy levels. Whether your dog is a confident social butterfly or a little more reserved, our team knows how to meet them where they are and give them a great experience.
