Beechnut Kennels offers small-group dog training classes in Edgewater, MD, built around positive reinforcement and real-world results. Whether you have a new puppy working on the basics or an older dog who needs a refresher, our classes are designed to meet your dog where they are.
All classes are held in our dedicated indoor training space and kept intentionally small so every dog gets individualized attention. We focus on building reliable behaviors that make everyday life easier and strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

Good Manners 1 Course
6 Weeks / $225
Good Manners 1 is the foundation class for dogs of any age. Over 6 weeks, your dog will learn practical, everyday behaviors: name recognition, sit, down, come, leave it, wait, loose leash walking, and polite greetings, plus tricks and games to keep learning fun.
This class is a great starting point whether you have a new puppy or a dog who just needs a solid foundation. Open to socialized puppies and dogs 16 weeks and older.
Good Manners PMP (Practice Makes Perfect)
6 Weeks / $225
Ready to take what you learned in Good Manners 1 further? PMP (Practice Makes Perfect) is the next step, a 6-week class focused on proofing skills under real-world conditions like distance, duration, and distractions.
You will introduce hand signals, practice long-line recall outside, work on heel, and build duration for skills like down-stay and Go to Your Place. The smaller class size (limited to 4) means more active reps, more feedback, and faster progress.
This class requires Good Manners 1 completion and the ability to physically handle your dog in both indoor and outdoor settings.
